Sandboxes and Masters

Both Sandboxes and Masters are Blackboard spaces (without students) where you can practice using and testing out Blackboard features. They can be requested via the service desk:

• Request a Sandbox.

• Request a Master.

What is a Sandbox?

A Sandbox is a course space specifically created for you to try/test things out. It is particularly valuable when experimenting with a new tool or feature within Blackboard. No students are enrolled in your Sandbox, so you can test freely without impacting them.

What is a Master?

A Master is designed for you to build a specific course in Blackboard. No students are enrolled in this space. It is valuable when you are building a course for the first time, or when transitioning between Blackboard Original and Blackboard Ultra. Once you are happy with your course build, copy it into your Blackboard term space.
